Then he shocks Arthur by telling him that he is an alien, and that the Earth will be destroyed in a few minutes, as a hyperspace bypass is being built. Arthur has a moment or two to decide to go with his friend, as they will hitchhike on a passing space freighter. He decides to go, and this starts an incredible adventure.
Dan in Real Life: Friendly comedy-drama of newspaper columnist Dan (Carell), the doting although harried single dad of 3 baby girls. While the family heads off to the Northeast for a holy day at his parents' seaside home, this widowed dad impulsively meets somebody (Binoche) who appears to be exact for him. The family reunion is replete with family member rivalries, secrets, and resentments. This film manages to ascend above recognizable sitcom level to be an amusing take on middle-aged affairs of the heart. Andrew Constitutions' lush, over the top Hollywood-fantasy production layout is the genuine megastar here; everything else is heavy handed and shallow, a self-consciously synthetic burlesque of an already lightweight film genre.
