Hassle-Free Ways To Take Advantage Of Your Music More

By Ray Jennings

When you need to hear music and those around you don't, the easiest way out would be to use a pair of headphones! When you want to personalize your experience of listening to music, the perfect option is always to obtain your headphones and tune in to your selected music! I am sure all of you use headphones frequently. Still, perhaps you have considered how headphones work? Here is how.

Headphones are a pair of small loudspeakers or transducers that receive electrical signals from a mp3 and change them into sound waves. The speakers of the headphones are responsible for converting the electrical signals into sound waves. The headphones are attached to an audio-frequency signal source. They're held close to the listener's ears in order that his/her listening experience is maximized.

One can find different methods that headphone transducers put into action to replicate sound. During the electrostatic method of sound reproduction, an electric signal is applied to electrodes. It produces an electric field as well as diaphragm inside the headphones moves towards the plates. The air traveling through perforations and the changing electrical signal cause the production of a sound wave. Headphones regularly have a balanced nature armature, that is a transducer that increases electrical efficiency by removing the stress within the diaphragm. Certain headphones have ortho dynamic drivers that involve fine aluminum discs acting as the diaphragm.

You'll find unique variations of headphones, varying in size and style. Circumaural headphones have circular ear pads and so are utilised in recording studios. Earbuds are smaller in size and can be placed outside the ear canal. While Canalphones may be inserted directly into the ear canals. Closed-ear headphones filter external interferences and therefore are believed to provide a more suitable listening encounter.

Noise-reducing headphones are supposed to provide the users with refined sound quality, as they eliminate ambient noise frequencies belonging to the sound waves created. Cordless headphones are becoming well-known as they allow for the mobility of the user, and tend not to require them to physically hook up to a music player. This discussion must have helped you choose the precise pair of headphones to best match your needs. What are you waiting for? Move ahead to obtain them! - 29968

David Duchovny has played a main role in this series which is similar to the life of famous writer and poet of American origin Charles Bukowski.

The name of the leading character of a writer in the series is Hank Moody and the role is played by actor David Duchovny. The writer travels to California to beat the writer's block. Karen, his steady girlfriend and Becca, their daughter also move with him. The role of Karen is played by Natascha mcelhone and that of Becca by Madeleine Martin. He was trying to convince his girlfriend about his ability as a trustworthy and loyal spouse and a loving father. In the show the writer goes through various odd conditions in his daily life and he holds writer's block responsible for all this. The show of 30 minutes is completely amusing and enjoyable. At the end the characters gains lot of sympathy for him for the jumbles he does in the series.

The main cast also includes Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon who play, Moody's agent and his wife. Damian Young acts the part of Bill Lewis, Karen's fiance while Madeline Zima plays the role of Mia Lewis, Bill's teenage daughter. Together they form the core of the cast with other recurring characters fleshing out the storyline and creating a tv series that's much viewed and enjoyed.

Not surprisingly, the show has won three awards so far, not to mention numerous nominations. Among the three winners are two consecutive Emmy awards - for Outstanding Cinematography, in 2008 (Peter Levy) and 2009 (Michael Weaver). The third award - a Golden Globe in 2008 - was won by Duchovny himself for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series. Some of the nominations include three consecutive Golden Globe nominations for David Duchovny's convincing portrayal of Hank Moody (including the one he won in 2008).

Welcome to my history of the violin lesson. The violin history runs for centuries as an instrument that is used in various musical genres like classical, pop, jazz and country. It is a small, hollow stringed instrument with a long neck and four strings tuned from low to high; with each note having a perfect fifth to the one below it. This article covers a brief history of the violin. If you want to learn how to play the violin like a master go to this Violin Master Pro Site

The violin is made of different types of wood where the top is usually made of spruce while the sides and back are usually of maple. The fingerboard of the violin is usually made of ebony; however, sometimes ivory is used. Violin strings were originally made of gut but today they are made of different materials. The different kinds of violin strings give different tones and sound quality. Some violin strings also stay in tune, and last longer than the others. Violin strings today are usually metal, synthetic core or gut strings.

Metal violin strings produce pure, clear and loud tones and are easy to play. Beginners and intermediate players prefer using steel core strings. The synthetic core violin strings are made of the nylon perlon and produce subtler sounds than metal strings and dont have to be tuned often.

Today, there are also electric violins that send signals via an electrical pickup device. There are also electric violins that work only when plugged in. Electric violins have a solid body design with wiring and batteries found in its body. Being a fairly new invention, electric violin makers today can use their imagination to decide on the shape of the electric violin.

Violin stores are recommended for a better range of violins. There are some violin stores that sell violins from different manufacturers, and some that manufacture their own violins. Some violin stores also rent out violins and sell used violins. As new violins cost between two hundred to twenty thousand dollars, beginners usually rent violins or buy used ones. Guitar Lessons DVD: Take Lessons As Many Time As You Want

By Orien Graham

Make sure you are practicing efficiently. Do you really know how to practice the guitar? Are you focused on setting daily and weekly objectives and then practicing in such a way that you will be working towards those goals?

I prefer to be wise like the Buddha, and take the Middle Path. This is the one I have chosen, and I will describe it for you.

These are questions you should ask yourself. The two biggest practicing mistakes I have seen in students (besides not practicing enough) are: 1. Practicing is not goal orientated. 2. Not understanding the difference between playing one's guitar and practicing one's guitar. If you are having any difficulties with practicing, talk to your teacher about it. He/she should be able to help you.

Discipline yourself. Unlike a sport, you do not have a coach or a trainer to work with you all the time. Nobody is there to make sure you are practicing the way you need to, when you need to, and how often you need to.

You need to be totally self reliant. If this is not a normal part of your personality, fortunately there is help for you. Only you can stop yourself from procrastinating. Take the initiative now to go forward.

Absolutely spend a good amount of time in practicing reversing that habit. Practice in a new way, where you make sure you do what you weren't doing before. Analyze the essence of that bad habit, extract it from it's musical context, and perhaps make up "auxillary exercises" based on the essence of it. Use all the practice techniques that I teach to effectively begin this process of reversal.

In fact, it makes learning things like bar chords an orderly, if still somewhat demanding process. And the result is a very comfortable feeling while doing them, and the proper basis for more advanced techniques, such as keeping a bar down while the other fingers do all sorts of things that demand great control.

Playing the guitar well is not reserved for just some special people. It is available and possible for everyone. - 29968

Ways to Make Sure There Isn't the Satellite Direct Scam

By Philip Ridnour

You've probably heard about this new style of software on the web these days. Many companies are coming up with programs that give you access to thousands of television channels, all from your computer.

One of the leading companies offering such a platform is Satellite Direct, whose one-time payment of less than 50 dollars allows users to watch more channels than they could ever possibly need.

Still, many people worry that it may very well be a Satellite Direct scam. Those with a hint of skepticism should learn as much as they can online before deciding whether to proceed with the product.

This article is going to focus on some of the key points you should know about Satellite Direct TV for computers. Whether you know these things or not, I'm not sure, but I imagine that you'll learn a few new things nonetheless. The following questions are those that I'm asked most often when it comes to the product.

The first thing people wonder is whether Satellite Direct is legal. The answer to this question is yes. Thanks to some legislation known as the free to air laws, all of these channels are legally broadcast and transmitted via satellites.

Hidden fees is another area of interest that usually seems to arise. No one wants to pay something up front with the unexpected need to pay all kinds of costs further down the line. Thankfully, you'll legitimately only pay for this software once, making the cost of lifetime access extremely reasonable.

Those who are less tech savvy often wonder whether they may need to buy some extra equipment necessary to make this all possible. If this accurately describes your situation, you'll be glad to know that all you need to do is download and install the software.

While you may have a few more questions on your mind, these three are the most common ones that I've come across since I began learning about the product. Hopefully you'll have a much clearer understanding about this interesting new piece of software. - 29968

What You Should Consider When Creating Art

By Jaclyn Hawtin

I you want to be an artist but you are not a classically trained painter then abstract art paintings are the way to go. Creating abstract art is easy. It is you subconscious self that produces this art, that's why abstract paintings are always very interesting and appeals to different people in different ways.

If you use paper, then the kind of paper you need depends on the medium you are using. For starters I recommend acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is easier to use because it dries faster. Oil paint is messy because it stays wet for more than a say depending on how thick the layers are and when beginners use oils they end up mixing all paint he/she has into a nasty brown color.

You have 2 options when purchasing paper to paint on, it can either be primed or unprimed. If it's not primed, just apply a thin layer of paint(don't dilute it) and let it dry, but I recommend the former.

When your first starting out you want to buy the cheapest acrylic paint available because we're assuming you're only trying to amuse yourself at this point and with cheap paint you can splash it around freely not worrying about making your money back in profit.

One of the keywords in our approach to abstract art is spontaneity. This means letting your brush take control, allowing yourself to be like a shaman in a trance. The other side of abstract art - and of any other kind of art - is using your intelligence to guide your animal instincts.

Now, intelligence is a very nasty word, evoking images of geeks, nerds and other professors, but let me tell you this: You possess intelligence. And you're going to use it to paint abstract art, or else you'll end up an abstract expressionist with loads of talent but with helpless paintings. What we need is a plan.

First off you have ask the question what is I would like to paint? What is it that you are interested in painting? What great artist would you like to be? Van Gogh, Mondrian, Bosch, Picasso, Klee, Chagall? A good way to start as an artist is to copy what the greats have done. Art historians attribute the success of French art to young students going to the Louvre, copying the old masters. This is legitimate as long as you know the difference between educational copying and forgery. Copying is too strong a word for our purposes, by the way, because we will try to stimulate your imagination, but with a plan - and a little help.

There is another way that you can go about painting your paintings. Another way to start is to just do everything completely at random with no plan whatsoever. That is, you paint random forms by instinct, without a preconceived plan. With this approach it's important to know when to stop and start thinking about what you've done. Be careful not ro over paint as a beginner. Try not to paint layer over layer in a random, uncontrolled fashion. You know that is time to stop when you are feeling tired or uninspired. Don't assume you can get your paintings done in one go, you have to be disciplined in order to know when to stop and wait for new ideas to come.

So suppose you have started a painting that looks really good. One possible way to elaborate on it is to take a small sized brush and try to accentuate the most relevant elements of your painting. You don't do this by thinking about it in a conscious sort of way, but try to imagine what it would feel like if you applied this brush stroke in that color to that location. If this sounds esoteric, it's because painting is about the most implicit form of intelligence: intuition. Although you may not understand everything that has been said on this page, you'll recognize many things as you get more experience Make sure to think about your paintings and not just paint. - 29968

A Beginner Guide To Learning Guitar

By Brock Davis

There is many more things when it comes to learning to play the guitar. It is not just picking up the instrument and starting in. You should begin with the basics. Know clearly what exactly you want to achieve. Next find a good guitar course. There are a list of things that you must learn in any beginner guitar course.

You'll need to know those things before you can move up to an intermediate guitar course. Here is a summary of the things you should learn during any guitar for beginners course you might take.

After you have finish your basic guitar course, you can then in a better position to decide which type of specialty you might want to explore. There are a few choices like classical guitar, rock guitar, jazz guitar, country guitar and folk guitar. Bear in mind that regardless the styles, they all start off with the same basics.

You will begin by learning the parts of your instrument and how they interact, what makes a guitar good, and how to maintain it. This information will make it a lot easier to get the kind of sound you want.

You will also learn how steel and nylon strings differ, when to use each of them, what kind of neck flexibility wrks for which kind of playing, and how the sound is affected by the guitar shape. You will learn the various strumming techniques and the difference between upstrokes and downstrokes. Beginners usually start by learning to strum a few basic chords like C, G, D7 and F. Also, you should find out how the chords are constructed and how they interact with each other.

Although finger picking might seem too advanced for a beginners course, you should learn it too. It also might seem like it would be better with a different type of music. Finger picking is a valuable technique to pick up. Acquire some dexterity and learn to use both hands. Even if you never use a technique like finger picking before, it is better to know it than not to know.

Another important skill to master during your beginner program is tuning and how each chord works with each key. You will start by using open tuning before try barring. Barring mean pressing down the strings across the fret and completing the chord using the rest of your fingers.

You will have to learn scales too. They are the basis of guitar playing. After you have mastered your scales, you will progress very quickly.

You could have the temptation to want to jump right in to learn the guitar but do not do that. First you should get a good foundation in your basics before then you can be a truly skilled guitar player. Without a good foundation, you will not be able to handle the advanced techniques. Nobody can become a skillful guitar player without going through the basics. Remember that those professional guitars also started as a beginners many years ago.

I can understand that learning to play guitar can be a bit overwhelming at first. But with patience and focus, you will be jamming with the best in no time at all. - 29968

Seattle Slew's Legacy Of Horse Racing Greatness

By Ross Everett

Seattle Slew--the last living Triple Crown winner--died on May 7, 2002 at the age of 28. As one of only 11 Triple Crown winners in history, he is by default one of the greatest horses in the history of thoroughbred racing. Of those 11 legendary animals, Seattle Slew was the only one to complete the Triple Crown with an undefeated record, as well as the only one to have been purchased at a public auction. After retiring in'78, Slew became one of the most important and successful stud horses in the history of the sport. He sired 1,066 foals including 102 stakes race winners. Among this impressive group of offspring was the'84 Kentucky Derby winner, Swale. All told, Slew's offspring have won an amazing $76 million dollars at the race track. Slew's stud fee of $300,000 made him a very profitable horse even after his racing career was over. Slew wasn't a particularly attractive horse, but he had the toughness of a championship boxer and the sort of intestinal fortitude and desire that can only be given by The Creator.

The Seattle Slew story began very modestly at a public auction in Lexington, Kentucky. The Keeneland Summer Yearling sale wasn't supposed to be the marketplace of champions, and the idea that this particular horse would ever amount to anything other than a farmhand was downright laughable. Slew looked clumsy, due primarily to a right forefoot that splayed outward and resulting in a shuffling gait at a trot. He also wasn't a majestic beast like his predecessor by a few years, Secretariat. Slew was borderline ugly. So ungainly a creature was he that he was given the less than inspiring nickname "Baby Huey" by the Keeneland staff. He was purchased by two couples (Karen and Mickey Taylor and Jim and Sally Hill) for $17,500. What wasn't apparent at the yearling sale was the intangibles that make up a championship thoroughbred--poise under pressure, love of competition, toughness, heart and desire. The Taylor's and Hill's had stumbled onto an equine Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan who's competitive fire quickly became apparent to the trainers that worked with him and the jockeys that rode him. His first race came at Belmont in'76, and the three races he entered--and won--as a 2 year old gave a hint of what was to come.

Slew quickly became a horse to watch as a three year old as he won three Derby prep races including the Wood Memorial. In the Derby, Slew got off to a terrible start as he stumbled out of the gate. He recovered from the miscue and essentially bulled his way through a pack of horses to lead at the 1/4 mile pole. Slew would win the Derby by a length and 3 quarters. He took another tough victory at the Preakness before clinching the Triple Crown with a 4 length victory in the Belmont Stakes.

Slew ran in a few races as a 4 year old but in the pre-Breeders' Cup days there wasn't as many opportunities for an older horse. He retired to stud in'78, where he sired champions such as the aforementioned Swale and'92 Belmont Champ AP Indy.

Slew was in someways overshadowed during his prime by his predecessor--and arguably the greatest thoroughbred race horse in history--1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat. In hindsight, however, it has finally been noted what an exceptional horse he really was. Jockey Angel Cordero, who rode Slew during the twilight of his career noted "If I had a chance to take any horse in the world, if someone said your life is depending on riding one horse to win, I would take (Slew). I rode 44,000 horses, but he was special, he was different. He was muscled, like a wrestler. He ran different than any other horse. It was like he came from another planet."

Following his death in 2002, Slew was laid to rest at Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Kentucky under a statue memorializing his legacy. - 29968

well, first of all, TVs provide so much entertainment for so many people and at such great value. Watching television is probably the most cost efficient way to spend your spare time. Hanging out with friends to watch your favorite shows can be great fun and is also social.

television has also brought audiences closer to the action in many ways. People can watch all of their favorite sporting events from the comfort of their own home without having to shell out money on tickets or spending time travelling. Rather than going to concerts as well people can buy the DVD and stay in to the sounds of their top musicians. That's not to say that staying in is as good as actually being there, but it's a great alternative and you can still go to the events you want to on occasion.

however, there are also negatives to TVs. First of all, they can really get in the way of your pursuits. People nowadays seem to spend so much time sitting in front of the television rather than getting out there and doing physical activity. People are not as active as they once were and they sacrifice spending time conversing and bonding with their friends and family in order watch their favorite shows. Television therefore has become a major part of the family.

watching too much television can also be a problem for your health and one of the major reasons that obesity and associated illnesses have risen is because of the evolution of the television and all of the channels it offers.

it can also have a negative effect on many peoples lives, particularly those of children by influencing them with advertisements and promotions. By watching content not suitable for kids they can also develop psychological problems due to over exposure to forms of violence, murder and horror.

there are therefore positives and negatives to TVs and what they offer the viewer. But used in moderation, there is no reason why your television shouldn't become an enriching part of your life. - 29968

Good Quality Green Screen LA: A Guide To Finding

By Phillip Guye

One of the benefits of videos is that many people enjoy interacting with them. You can make them fun, straightforward to look at, and even interactive. This makes it possible to drive more folk to find and watch them which is one technique of increasing your audience traffic. It is important that you make them respectable too. One good idea is using a Green screen LA. This is a video making strategy which allows you to mix two screens or frames together.

One of the qualities of Green screen LA is that it makes characters and pictures that it creates clear and simple to see. It is simply a breeze to see characters displayed on this medium vs a video created employing a web based program. As a consequence, you do not have to worry when making a business show to a large number of folks. This medium permits all sort of characters to be displayed correctly without any kind of interference.

One quality to watch out for when creating videos using Green Screen LA technology is called the afterglow effect. This is more common when scrolling up and down on the green screen, which has a tendency to leave a glow, which is affecting the quality of characters on show. When choosing a green screen you need to ensure you don't encounter this problem as to be certain that your presentation is simply comprehensible. A smart idea to remedy the difficulty of afterglow is to ask somebody well informed in the field to suggest you a screen warranted to offer you the least issues.

You should also look out for a Green screen LA that have high absorbance. A green screen with a quantity of high absorbance will make it a lot easier for you to work with. Since you will need to use a lot of lighting, an absorbent material allows the green screen to reduce the difficulty of glow effects, which can make it difficult for you to display your pictures correctly. The reason is that it affects how clear characters and pictures appear on the screen thus giving you poor output. Good quality green screens should give you very little reflectance at all. Make sure your screen has as little afterglow effect as possible. This guarantees you clear characters when making final presentations.

One of the common uses of a Green screen LA is in television and film productions such as weather reports and films that need in depth, grand photographs. The green screen allows film makers to make illusions, battlegrounds, and fantastical creatures that would otherwise be very difficult to portray on the big screen. The type of work you want to use on your green screen also determines the quality of green screen you need to pick. In the case of a television display, the scale of the green screen also matters. The reason is that proximity and distance from the screen affects overall image display. As you combine the two frames to be employed in the display of images or characters it is vital to check out how even they are. This might affect lighting and cause some sort of reflection which results in poor images. - 29968

There Are Guitars, And There Are Rickenbacker Guitars

By Jarvis D. Burris

There are numerous guitars, and there are those Rickenbacker Guitars.

Guitars.

Guitars have the longstanding standing of being one of the hottest of musical instruments, standing next to the piano. With origins all the way back to over 5000 years back, guitars are truly flexible musical instruments which have heavily surpassing influences with present day popular culture, as well as with the direction in which music has taken.

Rock and roll stands to be one genre in which guitars practically dominate. Blues, Country, Funk, Jazz, Alternative, Flamenco, and even pop are also other genres in which guitars are always present, resonating their sounds, ever feeding listeners' souls with enriching quality music. As a musical instrument, there are various classes of guitars, each ideal for specific musical genres, as well as for general music use.

There are steel stringed acoustic guitars, classical acoustic guitars, basic solid-body electric guitars, archtop guitars and electric and acoustic bass guitars. Of course, these mentioned guitar classes aren't the only ones out in the market, as there are more other classes ranging from double headed guitars, to twelve string guitars.

There are also Rickenbacker Guitars.

Rickenbacker Guitars are guitars manufactured by the Rickenbacker Global Firm , a known leader in the production of quality guitars, particularly electrical guitars. With its headquarters based in Santa Ana, California, Rickenbacker is feted for being the biggest guitar maker who manufactures their guitars all in the borders of the US.

The most notable thing with Rickenbacker, as a guitar maker, would be that of the electric guitar, as Rickenbacker is the first makers of the electric guitar during the 1930s. With the electric guitar having a very profound influence with music, Rickenbacker guitars simply stood tall, and still stands tall, in the hierarchy of guitars today.

During the 60s, with the rising acceptance of electrical guitars in the music scene, Rickenbacker guitars have nicely mixed with the now generic look of bands and preferred music, as The Beatles, possibly the most influential music group of the 20 th century, used Rickenbacker guitars. This connection with The Beatles and Rickenbacker guitars commenced when budding vocalist John Lennon got a Rickenbacker 325 Capri in 1960. The Rickenbacker 325 Capri which John Lennon acquired, was refinished in black, and was employed in the famous 1964 Ed Sullivan Show debut of The Beatles.

Other prominent musicians and performers who have used and still use Rickenbacker guitars include, Roger McGuinn of the Byrds, Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Pete Townshend of The Who, Mike Pender of The Searchers, Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys, Paul Kantner of Jefferson aeroplane and Al Nichol of The Turtles and Steppenwolf. Many New Wave bands also used Rickenbacker guitars, including Peter Buck of R.E.M, Tom Petty, Jonny Marr of the Smiths, Susannah Hoffs of The Bangles and Marty Wilson-Piper of The Church.

Today, Rickenbacker guitars still hold the esteemed status in which quality guitars could possibly achieve. With Rickenbacker's long standing line of famous "endorsers", quality in Rickenbacker guitars is a sure thing.

Record Companies Resort To Different Tactics To Collect Money

By Mallory McGuinness-Hickey

It appears as though the music industry has found a new strategy to cash in on royalties. As music lovers are well aware, at first these companies tried to sue individual users for illegally downloading music. But it is painfully clear that this approach to recover from major financial loss has destroyed their image in the public eye.

Instead of lowering the cost of CDs in order to compete with music circulating through the internet that is for free, these businesses have turned to collection agencies who are now bringing cellphone companies to court over royalties from ring tones. Contesting that ring tones counted as public performances, the music industry asserted that cell phone companies should be obligated to pay performance fees. The courts quickly denied this claim.

After this unsuccessful attempt to collect money, Broadcast Music Inc is now suing T-Mobile over ring back tones, contesting that the cell phone company is selling them without agreeing to licensing agreements. Instead of ring tones, which play out loud when someone calls a cellphone, ring back tones play expressly to the person calling. That is to say, instead of hearing a cellphone dialing tone, the caller will hear a song chosen by the cell owner.

Cynics are quickly to point out the seeming irony of this lawsuit. Ringtones which can be heard by anyone around a cellphone do not count as a public performance, so it seems ridiculous to sue the mobile carriers over a ringback tone that can be heard solely by the caller. The music industry, suffering from major financial losses, seems to be grasping at straws in order to collect any money that they possibly can.

It does not appear that lowering the cost of CDs, DVDs and other media is an plan that has occurred to the music industry. There are still quite a few fans out there that prefer to collect and own the actual products, but with prices constantly spiking, downloading music for free seems very appealing. Many CDs generally go on sale for about seventeen dollars.

Specific bands have been skirting the issue of music downloading through unique tactics. Radiohead, an alternative rock band, established a website where fans can download the music for free, or for a donation. Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor has followed suit. With record companies' unsuccessful lawsuits and declining public image, it seems as though thinking outside of the box and fair pricing may be more effective than bullying money out of mobile carriers and individual users. - 29968

Saints Come From 21 Down To Beat Dolphins

By Ross Everett

With an offense that can strike as quickly as the New Orleans Saints', they're never out of a game. The Miami Dolphins found that out the hard way on Sunday as the Saints came roaring back from a 21 point deficit to win going away 46-34. Drew Brees threw for 298 yards and a touchdowns, though gave up three interceptions as New Orleans remained undefeated at 6-0 despite trailing in a game for the first time this season.

Adding insult to injury for NFL betting enthusiasts who backed Miami as +6 home underdogs, the Saints continued their rampage against the pointspread with a late game interception return for a touchdown to cover. New Orleans is 6-0 against the number this season, while Miami dropped to 2-4 against the spread. The 80 combined points sailed OVER the posted total of 47'. It was the fourth OVER in six games this season for both teams.

After the game, Brees said that his team never lost confidence:

"There was no doubt on our sideline we would come back and win. They had given us their best shot, and we had played about as bad as we could play. All we had to do was string together a few drives and gain the momentum back. We knew it was going to happen, and it did."

Following a rushing touchdown that gave his team their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter, Brees dunked the football over the goal post crossbar:

"There are times in the game when a team just needs an emotional lift. I felt like I had to do something to get everybody hyped. The first thing that came to mind was to dunk it."

Saints' linebacker Scott Shanle suggested that the game could portent good things to come:

"It can be a season-defining win. This was a test we hadn't faced yet, and we couldn't be happier with the way we responded."

A dejected Ricky Williams explained how his team had lost:

"This was our game to win. We fought and we fought. They just fought harder at the end."

Dolphins' QB Vonte Davis said the defense was aware that with Brees in the game even a 21 point lead was tenuous at best:

"With Drew Brees, it's like the score is 0-0. We knew they would come back and that it would be a tough game."

The Saints will now host the Atlanta Falcons next Monday night. New Orleans is a -9 home favorite with the total set at 53'. They'll then face two struggling teams, taking on the Carolina Panthers at home the following Sunday and playing against the Rams at St. Louis on November 15. The Dolphins will play on the road against the New York Jets this Sunday, with Miami a +3' road underdog and the total set at 40'. - 29968

Wicked Musical Tickets

By Richie Stephenson

If you are looking for a nice musical to take your kids and whole family to, Wicked could just be the one that all of you could enjoy most. Wicked is a Broadway musical also being performed at the West End. In New York, it has gathered enough positive criticisms to get a Tony Award and prove its worth.

This musical is based on a novel written by Gregory Maguire entitled "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". This best-selling literature is actually written in parallel to the classical story entitled "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum.

In the story, there are two witches, Elphaba, who will eventually become the wicked witch and Glinda, the supposedly good witch. These two witches became friends, although they have contrasting personalities and view points. Their friendship did suffer bumps and trials along the way of course. They do share one thing in common though - they both love the same guy.

The setting of the story happened before Dorothy arrived in Oz with the help of her ruby slippers. With that said, the audience could expect notable references, dialogues, and scenes in the equally popular "The Wizard of Oz" movie of 1939.

You need not see the story of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz to appreciate this show and its plot. But those who simply love the classical tale are very much invited to see who the wicked witch of Oz really is. While you may think that she's the person that made things miserable for the people at Emerald City, you might think differently about her after watching this entertaining Broadway show.

Before finding its way to New York, Wicked was first shown at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco. It debuted in May 2003 before being presented in Broadway five months after. The force behind this musical is none other than Universal Pictures and is under the direction of Joe Mantello. Musical staging credits go to Wayne Cilento.

In the US, Wicked is being shown not only in New York but in Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Chicago as well. It also has had a big opening in London, more particularly at the West End. A tour is also being held regularly, with the show already taken to Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio, among others.

The main characters of the story, aside from the two witches are The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Madame Morrible, Fiyero, Nessarose, Boq, and Doctor Dillamond. Each one of these characters features a distinct singing voice in the play that makes the musical more entertaining and lively. The most popular numbers of the musical are "No One Mourns the Wicked", "Dear Old Shiz", "As Long as You're Mine", and "For Good", among others.

Kids and adults would surely love this show simply because it is a very good one. The tale is rich and eventful, with the musical rendition quite memorable. Take your whole family to enjoy the performance. It is truly going to be a night of entertainment for all of you. - 29968

What Lessons You Can Learn From The King Of Pop's Last Moon Walk

By Siegfred Anzano

One of the most famous dance steps of all time was the one popularized by Michael Jackson. Wikipedia gave meaning to this dance step as "a dance technique that presents the illusion of the dancer being pulled backwards while attempting to walk forward."

I thought about this meaning and came to realize that there is a stark similarity between Michael Jackson's life and his popular moon walk. This post will attempt to bring about the morals we can learn from the similarity. In no way am I attempting to degrade Michael Jackson and his achievements but will only focus on the moral side.

Being one of the most successful entertainers of his generation, Michael Jackson was able to sell over 750 million records, win 13 Grammy Awards and hit the no. 1 spot with his singles 13 times. Articles around the world agree that his lifetime earnings were more than $500 million and that his music itself is a billion dollars worth.

Even though he had gained so much fame and fortune, which he achieved since he was young, the end part of his life was mostly filled with struggles of depression and of financial debts. Many would readily agree that his health further declined when he sequestered himself from his family, friends and financial woes. Millions of people have come to love him since he was young, but despite the outpouring of love, he died filled with loneliness, a broken heart and depression.

With all the bad circumstances that happened to Michael Jackson during his last days of his life, I thus refer to his final years as his final moon walk. I refer to his last years of his life as his final moon walk because no matter how much he tried to move forward in his life, his actions only caused him to move backwards. But unlike the moon walk, everything that happened to him in his final years was not mere illusions. Here are things about the life of Michael Jackson that I think will give us lessons in life:

1.) Try living within your pay grade - In spite of the millions of dollars Michael Jackson earns every year, his extravagant lifestyle forces him to spend more than $ 20 to 30 million above what he earns. His display of extravagance has caused him to be in so much debt that certain well known persons, including a Bahrain Sheik, blamed him for his inability to pay what he owed. This incapability resulted to his losing of his valued Neverland Ranch. While his assets still have greater value over his debts, he still died owing $ 400 million. Even if Michael Jackson had the right of living extravagantly, he should have been wise enough to live within his pay grade and made an effort of taking care of his finances. His inability to live within his pay grade brought about so much financial problems that he got more depressed.

2.) Life is tough, so learn to handle problems - The King of Pop may have accomplished so much success in his musical career, however, he could not handle a problem well. When problems came, he became so depressed that he turned to weird plastic surgeries, isolation and drug misuse. An example of this was when he was accused of child molestation. The King of Pop was never the same after the that ordeal. According to J Randy Taraborrelli in an article he wrote for the daily mail, "He (King of Pop) surrounded himself with children, animals and a false reality - so much so that he never learned how to cope in the real world. He never wanted to grow up, and his managers encouraged these eccentricities when they should have encouraged therapy."

3.) Fame and fortune does not equate joy and happiness - Yes, the King of Pop no doubt has achieved so much in his lifetime. So much that he broke records that he himself achieved, opened up racial barriers and reinvented the world of music. However, though he had these great successes and the love of millions, the final years of his life was marked with loneliness, unhappiness sadness, depression and the feeling of being unloved. He kept to himself, away from friends and family.

Michael Jackson's last moon walk bears so many morals in life. I could have said more but it is your turn to do your own analysis. I pray that in the event we will have to do our last moon walk here on earth, it would be much better than Michael Jackson's. - 29968

Are Illegal Movie Downloads Worth The Risk?

By Freddy Stenson

Are illegal movie downloads worth all the trouble? It is often tempting to get the latest blockbusters for free and watch it at your convenience rather than wait in long queues outside movie places only to be disappointed. However, be warned that these movies come with quite a string of disastrous consequences.

However, the free option also comes with a big list of problems and repercussions, which you should be warned about. The sad truth is that even with such strict laws, illegal movie downloads outnumber the legit ones by as much as 5 to 1.

Shockingly, more than six million households in America have downloaded from an illegal movie download sites within the past 60 days alone. Most of these downloads are videos that have adult related content and often, people have used a Peer to Peer (P2P) site to download these movies from.

The problem with such websites is that you cannot rely on the quality of content that you are downloading and it is usually from another person's computer, which might not always be a good thing.

This type allows for those that will be regular users to download and unlimited number of movies for a set monthly price. This will allow them to get the maximum number of downloads at the lowest price possible per selection. The other is where you can pay for each individual movie that you download. You'll pay a little more per movie, so this method is best suited for the occasional users.

Some of the biggest benefits you'll realize are that all these legal movie downloads, from reputable sites, will have a much higher picture and sound quality. As well, the download speed will be much faster as compared to a file sharing type download.

However, the agencies that track these offenders will not catch just about anyone due to the complication of the entire process. Often times, the will track a person who is downloading thousands of movies and reselling them in the market, trying to make an example out of them and hopefully preventing people from doing the same thing at their homes.

Many movie studios are now improvising some sort of security in the discs so that the people who download them cannot play it back on their system. This security is not foolproof and many hackers always find a loophole with enough time. With newer technologies, it is not that hard to break security protocols either.

One of the minor downsides of using a legal movie download site is that there tend to be less of a selection of movies available to the end user. With fewer legal movie download sites around, as opposed to the illegal file sharing sites, your choices to find one that can accommodate your needs for price and terms of agreement will be limited as well. However, there are enough legal sites out there, with more popping up everyday that you're sure to find one within the price range that you are willing to pay.

While the costs associated with legal movie downloads can be distressing to some, the benefits definitely make up for it. You'll receive a higher quality picture and sound file, as well the comfort in knowing that all the files you download are securely protected from malicious viruses that can cause you and your system much grief in the end. You need to shop around, just like anything else your purchase, to find the site that suits your needs the best.

In fact, it is like finding that special deal in the supermarket, the euphoric feeling is echoed when you get your favorite movie for absolutely no cost. Hence, you can probably go the wrong way and download movies illegally or simply pay a small amount and get it from a trusted and authentic source. After all, it will help you with your conscience as well. - 29968

He Changed Everything: Walt Disney

By Fabian Toulouse

You can't deny the cultural impact of Walt Disney. To do so would be tantamount to denying the cultural impact of Louis B. Mayer or James Dean. He ratified popular culture and changed the way we not only saw ourselves, but how we interacted with our environment and the medium of not only film, but television as well. He did this with lines on paper and a little mouse with gloves.

He was born on December 15, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. The son of Elias and Flora Disney, who had moved from Ontario, Canada in 1890, the family moved from Chicago to Marceline, Missouri for four years to farm. One of their neighbors paid Walt to create pictures of his horse and a love of drawing was born.

Unable to get into the Army at sixteen, Walt volunteered for the Red Cross instead and was charged with driving an ambulance in France. When he returned, he left the family home and searched for work in Kansas City. He found work creating commercial ads and met Ub Iwerks. The two became the best of friends and in 1920, they struck out on their own, starting the Iwerks-Disney Commercial Artists Company. Money was hard to come by and soon Disney was working for an ad company to make ends meet. While employed there, he took an interest in animation and soon defected to open his own animation company.

Impressed, by Disney's Alice Comedies, Margaret Mintz distributed Disney's animated shorts through her husband's company. In 1928, after the immense success of Disney's Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt flew to New York to ask Charles Mintz for a larger production budget. To Disney's dismay, Mintz not only declined to increase the production budget, but also informed him of the need to make sweeping budgetary cuts. Disney rebuked the draconian measures and subsequently lost the rights (which Mintz had procured) to the Oswald Rabbit character and the contracts to many of his animators.

Drawn on a train ride and receiving only a tepid response from his wife, Mickey Mouse would go on to be featured in Disney's first bona fide success: Steamboat Willie. This changed everything for Walt. This sound cartoon would propel Disney to creating the industry's first animated feature, Snow White. The list of Disney movies that has come into being has changed not only popular culture, but world culture and is a testament to Disney's will to succeed. - 29968

Have Some Fun with Garfield Personal Checks

By Alan Plastin

Like Garfield, do you dread Monday mornings? Does taking out your checkbook give you anxiety? Well, if you're a fan of the lovable, and sometimes surly, big orange cat then carrying Garfield checks will always give you a smile when you take out that checkbook. Plus, it's not as expensive as you might think, not thanks to the Internet.

Created in 1978 by Jim Davis, Garfield is the world's most syndicated comic strip. Everyone around the world is familiar with Garfield and his pals. The comic strip centers on the life and adventures of Garfield, a large orange, and sometimes lazy, cat as well as his owner Jon and Jon's dog, Odie.

Garfield's abhorrence of Monday mornings, his laziness, his obsessive love of eating, and his distaste of diets are some of the common themes that can be found within the comic strips. Both children and adults are able to enjoy the humor, somewhat due to the fact that the storylines are not political in nature and instead center on the daily humor that life can bring.

Jon is Garfield and Odie's owner and is usually portrayed as a nice, if somewhat geeky, character. He has eccentric habits such as stamp collecting and dubious fashion taste, according to Garfield. Some of the jokes in the comic strip focus on Jon's inability to garner a date.

Odie is an amiable yellow dog that is mostly shown to be naive, but endearing. However, his naivete could be an act since sometimes when Jon and Garfield are gone Odie can be seen watching educational programs on television and reading. Although Garfield usually gets the better of Odie, the two do seem to share a friendship with one another.

Today, if you're a fan of Garfield and Company, then you can purchase Garfield personal bank checks at a fraction of the cost that you might have paid at your bank by ordering online. When you use a reputable site you can save as much as 50% off the cost that you might have paid in the past. Plus, you will have a larger multitude of checks to select from, too.

The Garfield checks are charming and cheery, just like the comic strip. You can even find coordinating address labels and a matching checkbook cover to go with them in order to complete your Garfield collection. No matter how much anxiety your finances might give you, you won't be able to help but smile when you write out a Garfield check.

Ordering checks online is simple and quick and takes the task out of going to your local bank. You just need to know your routing number and checking account number to get started. These will be printed directly onto the checks themselves. You can typically expect to receive the checks in around 3-5 days, which might even be faster than your bank got them to you in the past. - 29968

All Those Special Effects Are Possible Through Green Screen Studio

By Phil Guye

Shooting at a Green screen studio isn't just a very good experience, but also one that doesn't shake your position up. Today, everyone looks to be giving a lot of thought to the quantity of money that they are spending on a picture. It is important for them to add each single greenback before shelling it out. No wastage can be afforded, because money is in such short supply. With the IRS breathing down your neck, trying to gather your taxes down to the last cent, the last thing you need is an issue with the money department. Therefore if you were to shoot at a facility like this, you might ensure that your money was spent well and not a cent went down the drain.

Looking for a studio to provide all those computer effects generating technologies that a Green screen studio provides should be one of the things that are on the requirements list of a director. This is particularly true if he's shooting a film which has dinosaurs and oversized snakes or a scene with J Lo and Brad Pitt lounging around sexily on the mossy ground in an exotic, alien Amazon forest. He actually won't be successful if he is going to run around in a real forest looking for these prehistoric creatures to physically shoot.

Instead, going to the technical staff of Green screen studio could help him a great amount. They're going to be ready to help him with workable suggestions for creating just the sort of ambience that he's looking for. Considering the indisputable fact that he's attempting to find something out of the Ice or Stone Age, he will have to be clear on his necessities. Whether it be dinosaurs or the setting of an exotic land, anything is possible.

Once the wants are made known to the staff at Green screen studio, it is their job to provide all the tools that are required to ensure that the shot is done according to the specs provided. All thru the year, the staff is faced with challenging ever-changing eventualities where the requests keep getting more demanding than previously. Nonetheless, they try hard to provide what the director is attempting to find in order that they are able to maintain their reputation as a single-stop shop for all studio necessities.

Since the Green screen studio can be employed out by the hour, there are people who are prepared to working out an arrangement so the studio can be hired for a longer time period at a reduced cost. The amount paid also entitles the director and his crew to be aided by a technical person who is able to make sure that all the equipment is working correctly and in the correct way. Once this is done, the work can go on unhindered and the final result will be miles better than the director was really in hope of. Even artists begin to feel that sense of professionalism that pervades the entire studio, which engulfs the staff as well. - 29968

Peyton Manning was unable to tie a NFL record with his sixth straight 300 yard game , but the Indianapolis Colts remained undefeated by ripping the lowly St. Louis Rams 42-6 at the Edward Jones Dome on Sunday. Manning amassed 235 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions as the Colts made short work of the winless Rams. St. Louis quarterback Marc Bulger continued to struggle, with--0 yards passing, two interceptions and no touchdowns. The Colts are now 6-0 on the NFL season, while the Rams are 0-7.

NFL betting devotees who backed Indy as -14 road favorites easily won their bets as the Colts improved to 5-1 against the spread. After dropping their first game of the year to the number, Indy has run off five straight pointspread covers. The Chiefs dropped to 2-5 against the spread with the setback.

After the game, Colts' coach Jim Caldwell praised his quarterback:

"He functions pretty well within the system. He does a great job leading our team and being a field general. I don't think he reached 300 yards, but nevertheless he was very effective."

As has become his form, Manning deflected the praise onto his offensive line:

"I really appreciate the protection I've been getting. It's something I don't take for granted."

Indianapolis tight end Dallas Clark gave kudos to the Indy fans that made the trip to St. Louis to support the team:

"We had a great following today. It was outstanding. When we were introduced it felt like a home game."

Rams' running back Steven Jackson sounded like a man out of answers:

"We have to learn to put four good quarters together. We don't know how to win a game right now."

The Colts will return home next Sunday to face a potentially tricky game against the San Francisco 49ers. They'll remain at home for the following two games, hosting the Houston Texans the following week and the New England Patriots on November 15th. St. Louis will take on another one of the NFL's bottom feeders next Sunday, playing on the road against the Detroit Lions. The game is currently off the board while the Lions' quarterback injuries get sorted out. The Rams will have a much needed bye week after that before returning to action on November 15th as they host the New Orleans Saints. - 29968

The MMA Legacy Of Helio Gracie

By Ross Everett

Gracie family patriarch and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu pioneer Helio Gracie died in early 2009 in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 95. Its impossible to overestimate his influence on martial arts, and particularly his pathbreaking role in what is now the sport of mixed martial arts. The Gracie family name will forever be synonymous with Brazilian sports, jiu-jitsu, MMA and the UFC"not only due to Helios own accomplishments but the legacy he created both by training others and through his family.

Helio Gracie began training in judo early in life, and by the age of 16 had already begun to teach others in his native Brazil. He was bothered by judo's reliance on 'brute strength', however, and along with his brother Carlos began to adapt many of its forms to a new fighting system more reliant on leverage than strength. This prompted the creation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), frequently called Gracie Jiu Jitsu in his honor.

Gracie also had a professional fighting career of his own, taking on champions from other fighting disciplines in an early version of modern MMA. These bouts were grueling, unregulated affairs with rules that were often made up as they went along and time limits that seem barbaric by todays standards. By his own recollection, he had 15 fights against the top fighters of his day. These included pro wrestlers, boxers and other martial arts specialists.

Gracie's most famous opponent was against legendary Japanese judoka Masahiko Kimura. Gracie fought bravely in a losing cause, and ironically may have enhanced his reputation in defeat. He refused to submit to a reverse arm bar (the move that is now known as a 'kimura' in honor of its inventor), and the fight ended after his brother Carlos threw in the towel after Helio's arm had been broken.

Helio Gracie's impact on fight sports and mixed martial arts would continue through his offspring. Married twice, he had seven sons (Rickson, Royler, Rolker, Royce, Relson, Robin and Rorion) and two daughters (Rerika and Ricci), many of whom went on to make their own mark on the fight sport world. Royce Gracie is well known as the first UFC superstar, while sons Rickson Royler, Renzo have also achieved considerable fame in professional MMA.

The cause of Gracies death was officially given as natural causes. He had been having stomach problems for several days prior to his passing, and was admitted to a Rio hospital for this reason. His seriously epic last words will go down as a fitting envoi to a man who gave so much of himself to fighting:

Gracie's last words are as follows:"I created a flag from the sports dignity. I oversee the name of my family with affection and nerves of blood. - 29968

NHL Scoring Machine: Phil Esposito

By Ross Everett

Although many of his offensive records have now been left in the dust by Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, former Boston Bruins/New York Rangers center Phil Esposito is still regarded by hockey experts as one of the greatest players in NHL history.

Esposito was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and his prodigious hockey talent quickly became apparent. He was signed by the Chicago Blackhawks as a teenager, and made his NHL debut in'64. In'67, Esposito was traded to the Boston Bruins along with Ken Hodge and Fred Stanfield. Within a few years Hodge and Stanfield blossomed into All Stars, while Esposito quickly took his place alongside his former teammate Hull as the best scorer in the league.

Esposito began to shred the NHL record book in Boston, prompting Bruins fans to display car bumper stickers that read Jesus Saves; Esposito scores on the rebound. In'69, he became the first NHL player to top the 100 point mark (combined goals and assists) for the season"he obliterated the record with 126 points, which would be the first of six times that hed top the century mark. He topped 100 points in five straight seasons between'71 and'75, missing a sixth straight season by a single point with 99 in'70.

In the'70-71 season, Esposito smashed the NHL record for most goals in a season with 76. That record stood for over a decade until Wayne Gretzky scored 79 for the Edmonton Oilers in'81-82. Gretzky also broke Espositos single season points record of 154. Even now, only four other players including Gretzky have scored more than 150 points in a season and only five others have scored more than 76 goals in a season. Perhaps the most amazing element of Espositos game was the frequency with which he put the puck on net"Espo had 550 shots on goal in'70-71. No one has since come close"in fact, just last Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals became the first player to come within 100 shots of Espositos mark.

In'75, Esposito was traded with Brad Park to the New York Rangers for Brad Park, Joe Zanussi and Jean Ratelle. By that point, he had been slowed considerably by knee injuries but his experience, intelligence for the game and nose for the puck made him a valuable component of the Broadway Blueshirts offense and he was named team captain. Until the very end of his career, he remained a dangerous scoring threat that all opposing teams were forced to reckon with.

After his retirement in'75, he remained active in hockey. He served as the GM of the Rangers before helping secure an expansion team for Tampa, Florida in'92. Esposito served as the President and GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning until'98. Esposito now hosts a daily hockey radio show on XM Radio, and has even done some acting appearing in a recurring role as a fire chief on the TV series Rescue Me. - 29968
