Not only was the first Mass Effect labeled the best game of 2007, but it is still said to be the best RPG in the history of games. When we finished the first Mass Effect, we wanted more. It had one of the best endings; those of us that played the game would agree that Mass Effect had some of the best characters. Not only were the characters deep, but they remained in your mind long after the game was completed. It is games like Mass Effect that get sales up for the Xbox 360 and it is Mass Effect that earned Bioware lots of money.
If you have played this game on Xbox in recent days, then you probably still have the game saved. If you played it when it was first out, and you deleted the game even though you loved it, you might be sorry to hear that you'll be missing out on a very big plus for you.
That's because if you saved the first Mass Effect file, keep it until early next year, because that's when the Xbox 360's Mass Effect 2 is going to be released. With this, you can import your character saved game from Mass Effect; that will mean you start Mass Effect 2 at exactly the same place you left off.
However, that's not what really is important here. What's really important is that your character will retain his or her moral standing, so that the choices you made in the first game will carry right on over into this second incarnation. The choices will affect the second game, if you save your file, so that in essence you're playing one long game.
Have you seen the teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2? You probably remember when the credits rolled at the end of the first Mass Effect. In the trailer, though, we get a close-up of a familiar armor suit, with "N7" emblazoned on the chest. Ah-ha, it's Shepherd, the main character.
Oops, no, it's not. Instead, a Geth soldier is wearing the suit, and we find out that Shepherd was killed in action. However, as the saying goes, "accounts of Shepherd's death were greatly exaggerated," and he's right back in Mass Effect 2, facing an entirely new threat.
What should you know about Mass Effect 2? Well, first of all, it shares its love of multiple endings with Mass Effect, so there'll be some more of those. Primarily, you'll be on a suicide mission, and the beginning of the game will tell you that. Of course, Shepherd and his team already know this.
What will it be? The entire team, and you, can live, or you can die. Whether or not you live depends upon what you'll do and the decision to make during the game. Your decisions will shape your outcome. If you do happen to have your character die in Mass Effect 2, though, you'll still be able to play him in Mass Effect 3. - 29968
